Sound Design & Synth Programming

I've been a sound designer and programmer for years. I'm quite a whiz at programming synths and sequencing actually and blog about music production on Modulate This! So, In addition to composing songs, I also program many of the sounds you hear in songs on the album Reboot.

Things have really come a long way with synthesizers and all the sounds you hear on Reboot are created with virtual instruments. To give you a sense of what these beasts look like, I thought I'd share some screen shots.

Below is Gladiator made by a company called Tone 2. I used it to create a custom program for the lead line in the song "Stealth". Click the image to see a large version.

Next is a screen shot of Toxic Biohazard. I just started using this synth and I'm creating some custom programs for use in upcoming singles.

Being able to create my own  sounds and programs allows me to add unique elements to my tracks and is one of my favorite parts of the craft of being an electronic musician.
